I was self employed for over 15 years. Paid my taxes both business and personal for many years. However the business began to fail and as anyone can imagine I fell behind in every type of tax owed to the Irs and the State...and the NIGHTMARE began. My first mistake was to call the IRS and "settle" the problem. After months and months I realized the only accomplishment I had achieved was wasting a lot of MY time...which in my book is money. Speaking of money, I made mistake number two. I hired the "Professionals" to get rid of the headache and put me at ease. Again, after months and months and thousands of dollars I ended up in the same place. I had the BBD's. (Broke, Busted and Disgusted). However I did find there is a Resolution and it's not in many cases as bad as one might think.

Dealing with the IRS on any tax issue is usually a long and painful process that leaves the taxpayer confused with no hope of a reasonable solution.
